Review by hotel critic
Nestled in the tranquil surroundings of Kita Ward, Daitokuji Sushicho offers a delightful blend of traditional Japanese hospitality and modern comforts. From the moment I stepped into my air-conditioned room, complete with a cozy seating area and a flat-screen TV, I felt enveloped by an atmosphere of serenity—a perfect escape that any ocean lover like me relishes for downtime between adventures. Satoshi-san, the incredible chef and owner, curated unforgettable meals that truly highlighted the essence of Japanese cuisine, with every dish prepared freshly and with passion. Breakfast was an Asian delight that fueled my days of exploration, especially during a morning tour of the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, which Satoshi organized for us before the tourist crowds arrived. Beyond the exceptional dining experience, the ryokan boasts beautiful garden views and has great facilities, including free WiFi and bicycles, perfect for an eco-conscious traveler like myself eager to explore local sites like the nearby Kinkakuji Temple. For those looking to unwind amid bustling travel plans, I wholeheartedly recommend Daitokuji Sushicho. I’ll certainly be returning for another taste of this remarkable experience and warm hospitality!
